Acupressure
Acupressure is based on one the most ancient principles of healing — that simply touching a specific point on the body will release stress and improve health in the body. In an acupressure session, I apply firm finger or palm pressure directly to "points" on your body, which relieves your muscle tension and improves your circulation. This simple and powerful technique has been shown to very effective in treating headaches, backaches, and even insomnia. This might include using various tools like rollers or stone needles (dull tips that don't insert in the skin) or other such instruments to facilitate activating the points. Techniques could include feet, hands, head. I observe the traditional bodywork hour of treatment time about 50 minutes.
Moxibustion and Cupping
Moxibustion or cupping can be added to any service and at nominal cost, inquire when you make your appointment or they may serve as the entire session at a higher cost usually two 20 minutes sessions. If cupping or moxibustion is your entire session, it begins with a brief consultation to determine cupping the best treatment.
Auricular Medcine
Auricular therapy is Chinese Medicine for the ears. Ear seeds are applied based on the concern and each person is instructed on how to follow up with their therapy. Ear seeds included, specialty seeds extra. A more in depth treatment is available which explores the conditons of the body as represented in both ears. The therapy is personalized based on the findings and a picture is taken to gain further insight on condition.
Consultation
Consults are roughly one hour. There is a lot to cover that takes place during the visit as well as before and after the visit so it is important to complete the initial paperwork and make sure that I have it at least 24 hours before your appointment. An initial consultation consists of the initial visit and a follow-up visit to assess how well treatment is working.This includes assessment of the chief complaint and the creation of a treatment plan which could include the recommendation of herbals or additional therapy. This is a service for people with long term or chronic complaints. It might also be useful as a second opinion. The follow up which should be booked 2 weeks after the initial visit will be short and adjustments to the plan can be discussed at that time. This is a consult and no therapy is performed at this time. The sessions beyond the initial consultation will be pre-packaged as needed. Herbs cost are separate and not included in the consultation. Individual sessions that are not part of a package are booked at 60.00. Pre-packaged plans are your best value as they lock in a lower price.
